FBI names North Korea responsible for $6.3 billion theft from Binance According to Reuters, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced early Sunday, 10 Aban, that North Korea was responsible for the theft of billions of dollars in digital assets from the Binance exchange. The agency said the attackers had begun laundering the stolen assets by converting them into Ethereum, and that the process was expected to continue. The value of the theft was reported to be about $6.3 billion. Binance said it would cover all customer losses using company funds and was working with its partners to freeze the stolen assets. The FBI had previously blamed North Korean hackers for stealing about $1.5 billion from the Bybit exchange in Esfand 1403.
