The US Senate on Tuesday advanced a resolution to halt military action in Iran. The advancement of this resolution came after Republican Senator Bill Cassidy from Louisiana voted in favor of it. Cassidy lost a few days ago in the state's Republican primary for continuing his Senate seat to a candidate who had Trump's support. According to CNBC, although the war powers resolution passed with a 50-47 result, it still has little chance of becoming law.
