@ VahidHeadline 📡 @VahidOnline

Majed Mohammed Al Ansari, spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, rejected the Islamic Republic’s claim that three Iranian pilots had been detained, saying Qatari forces found the body of one pilot after searching the crash sites. In a post on X on Saturday, 24 Mordad, Al Ansari wrote that claims that Iranian pilots had been detained were “categorically” false. He said he was surprised that these statements had been made, particularly at a time when diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the region were continuing. The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that after the pilots in question entered Qatari airspace, contact was made with them and their flight path was reviewed and confirmed. He added that after the rules of engagement were followed and contact was made with the pilots without receiving a response, Qatar took the necessary steps to defend its territory in accordance with the requirements of international law. Al Ansari also said Qatar’s search-and-rescue teams had carried out a full operation to locate the pilots’ bodies. According to him, after one pilot’s body was found, the Qatari government contacted the Iranian side to coordinate its handover in accordance with the rules of international humanitarian law. He added that Qatar had invited a team in April to visit and receive information about the details of the search-and-rescue operation, but the Iranian side had not responded to the invitation so far. Earlier, the head of the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces General Staff Missing Persons Search Committee claimed that three army pilots whose Su-24 fighter jets had crashed during the Esfand attacks had been captured by Qatari forces. Qatari officials rejected the claim and gave a different account of the pilots’ fate and the search-and-rescue operation after the fighter jets crashed. @VahidHeadline 📡 @VahidOnline
