Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, told IRIB on Thursday, 14 Aban, after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, that Tehran had presented seven conditions to the United States. He said the Strait of Hormuz would not be opened and no negotiations would take place until Washington met those conditions. The Financial Times says it has obtained documents showing that Russia has agreed to provide the Islamic Republic of Iran with 90 guided-missile launchers. On Thursday, 14 Aban, the newspaper reported that, according to the production plan of a major Russian defense-industry company for 2024 and 2025, an export order for 90 helicopter-mountable missile launchers was registered for a customer identified by the code “K-10.” The Financial Times says that a review of documents related to other Russian arms contracts shows that this code is used to refer to Iran. The document in question is a letter sent in May 2024 by the Russian company Vympel, a manufacturer of missile equipment, to another Russian defense-industry company. The Wall Street Journal reported that Yemen’s Houthis, in response to Saudi Arabia’s efforts to reach a peace agreement, have demanded $51 billion in compensation and recognition as Yemen’s rulers. Protesting teacher Mohammad-Hossein Sepehri was released from Mashhad’s Vakilabad Prison on Wednesday, 13 Aban, after serving more than three years in prison.
