The Karun Human Rights Organization has reported an increase in the number of political and ideological prisoners at Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, saying that more than 600 people are being held in different units of the prison. Many of these prisoners were arrested in the wave of arrests following the 40-day war between Iran, the United States, and Israel. A significant number of the newly arrested are young people, most of them between 18 and 25 years old, and the majority are from Ahvaz, Fallahiyeh (Shadegan), Izeh, Behbahan, and Masjed Soleiman. A 31-year-old woman named Parvin Allah-Dini was shot and killed in the early hours of 16 Tir in the Hasht-Bangle neighborhood of Masjed Soleyman County. The suspect, an acquaintance of hers, allegedly forced his way into her home and shot her in front of her 12-year-old daughter. The perpetrator has been identified as a man named Jahangir, who had repeatedly asked Parvin Allah-Dini to marry him.
