Tasnim News Agency, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that three pilots in the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran were killed in Tuesday night’s U.S. attack on Iran. The agency published the pilots’ names and photos, saying that two were Navy pilots and one was an Air Force pilot, but did not say where or how they were killed. The Karun Human Rights Organization has reported an increase in the number of political and ideological prisoners at Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz, saying that more than 600 people are being held in different units of the prison. From Dey until today, detainees have been and are being held in the prison’s prayer room. The accounts from the detainees show that many had severe signs of beatings and physical abuse. Even the way they were taken into custody was strange; for example, one detainee was taken to prison on a motorcycle after being arrested. As you know, Ahvaz Prison has no juvenile correctional center for girls under 18, so children are held alongside adults, too. The prisoners had neither enough drinking water nor proper food. New detainees at Sepidar Prison are now facing similar conditions. The separation the Prisons Organization has imposed since Dey is not segregation by offense at all; it is simply another form of tighter control and systematic abuse and torture. Political prisoners have been separated from everyone else in the worst possible way, in a place with no natural light, insufficient drinking water, and no 24-hour access to toilets or showers.
