CBS News, citing two American officials, reported that two U.S. aircraft participating in the rescue operation for the F-15 fighter jet over Iran came under fire. According to these officials, an "A-10" fighter jet that was present in the search and rescue operation was targeted, and its pilot ejected over the Persian Gulf and was rescued. CBS News added that two helicopters also participated in this operation and rescued one of the two F-15E crew members from the previous incident. The helicopter carrying the rescued pilot was targeted by small arms fire and some of its crew were wounded. This helicopter landed safely and the wounded personnel are receiving medical treatment.
