As the seventh night of U.S. attacks on Iran came to an end, Islamic Republic officials reported damage to parts of Hormozgan Province’s transportation, water and electricity infrastructure. Local officials said the attacks had temporarily blocked some routes and disrupted services. Ahmad Karami-Asad, head of the Traffic Police of Iran’s Law Enforcement Command, said that following attacks early Saturday, 27 Tir, as well as attacks over the past several days, some routes out of Hormozgan Province toward Fars and Kerman provinces had been temporarily closed. He said the road police and the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization were working to reopen at least one route. Karami-Asad added that, for now, only one secondary route is open to passenger cars traveling from Bandar Abbas toward Fars and Kerman, while heavy vehicles cannot travel until further notice. The full reopening of the routes depends on the completion of safety inspections and repairs to the damaged infrastructure. The Hormozgan governor’s office also said that attacks last night damaged four locations along the province’s transport routes. According to the statement, the Shahid Mirzaei Tunnel in both directions, the Shur River Bridge on the Bandar Abbas–Sirjan route, and two bridges on the road from the Minab junction toward Rudan were targeted. The governor’s office has asked residents to avoid these routes until further notice. At the same time, Hormozgan’s deputy governor for political, security and social affairs said several missiles struck electricity facilities and desalination pumps at the pier in the village of Bongi, in Jask County. He said water service to several villages was cut off as a result. No official report has yet been released on the extent of the damage or possible casualties. Tasnim News Agency, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also reported damage to two bridges on the Bandar Abbas–Rudan route and said a maritime surveillance tower on Larak Island had been targeted. He said the outages were caused by damage to communications transmission routes near the Mirzaei Tunnel. Tayebeh Nazari Makki Abadi, the grieving mother of Maryam Arvin and one of those arrested at the 40th-day memorial ceremony for Khosrow Alikordi in Mashhad, has been sentenced to five years in prison by the city’s Revolutionary Court. Under a ruling issued on 23 Khordad by Branch One of the Mashhad Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Gholamreza Akbari Moghadam, and served on her, she was sentenced to four years in prison for “gathering and colluding against national security” and one year for “propaganda against the system.” Tayebeh Nazari is the mother of young lawyer Maryam Arvin, who was arrested in Sirjan during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests in 1401 for providing legal defense to detainees.
