The Israeli Prime Minister's office announced on Wednesday that Benjamin Netanyahu had "secretly" traveled to the United Arab Emirates during the war between America and Israel with Iran. The statement said that Netanyahu met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates. The Israeli Prime Minister's office said: "This trip led to a historic breakthrough in relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates." Earlier, senior American officials confirmed that Israel, during the war with Iran, had sent an "Iron Dome" defense system along with forces to operate it to the UAE. CNN reported, citing a knowledgeable source, that Israel's Iron Dome system, which had been secretly deployed in the UAE, intercepted a missile launched by Iran on Monday. CNN added: The two countries normalized their relations in 2020 under the framework of the Abraham Accords. Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Israel has sent advanced weapons systems to the United Arab Emirates, including an advanced laser system and the Iron Dome system to defend against missiles and drones from the Islamic Republic.
