A resident said a morality police van had been stationed at Ali Khani Square in Isfahan. Officers were arresting and taking away women without compulsory hijab “without any prior warning.” Another resident described Isfahan as “heavily securitized” and said morality police were stationed in areas including Jolfa, Mardavij, Chaharbagh, and Naqsh-e Jahan Square, confronting women without shawls or headscarves.
Someone else wrote: “In Isfahan, it’s no longer morality police vans—it’s buses. They round up girls on buses and take them away. …”
In Mashhad, too, armed forces entered Mellat Park on the evening of 22 Shahrivar and warned women about hijab. Several residents reported from Rasht that coercive enforcement of compulsory hijab has intensified in the city.
