At least 100 protesters in 13 provinces across Iran are at risk of execution The organization Iran Human Rights said at least 100 people arrested during the Dey protests are facing death sentences in 13 provinces across Iran. The highest number—46 people—is in Isfahan Province. According to the published list, after Isfahan, 22 people are in Tehran and Alborz provinces. The list also includes 10 people in Fars, seven in Razavi Khorasan, five in Markazi, three in Yazd, and two in Semnan. One person in each of North Khorasan, Gilan, Ardabil, Ilam, and Qazvin provinces is also facing a death sentence. A Semnan provincial official: Semnan Airport was also targeted in an airstrike early Thursday morning. Mahmoud Ghodrati, director general for security and law enforcement at the Semnan Governorate, claimed that a storage hangar on the airport grounds was hit by a missile and that some of the windows in the main terminal building were damaged. The Judiciary of the Islamic Republic announced that on Tuesday, 26 Khordad, two more protesters from last year’s Dey protests were executed in Shahroud. The Mizan News Agency identified the executed men as Javad Zamani and Abolfazl Saedi, and said they were executed on charges of “moharebeh” and “corruption on earth.” This is the first execution of protesters in Iran since the announcement of an agreement between Tehran and Washington to end the 40-day war. Maryam Akbari Monfared, a political prisoner, was released from prison after 17 years without even a single day of furlough. Maryam Akbari Monfared, who comes from a family of victims of the 1980s prison executions, was arrested in 2009; the Revolutionary Court sentenced her to 15 years in prison on charges of "enmity against God and acting against national security." This 15-year sentence was supposed to end in October 2024 in Semnan Prison, but this political prisoner was sentenced to another two years in prison on charges of "propaganda against the system." According to the Prison Organization regulations, convicts who have served one-third of their sentence can use furlough.
